Electrical Engineering – A Brief History

In today’s world of quickly changing technologies, electrical engineers bear a great deal of responsibility. They are in charge of designing, constructing, and assessing electrical systems and components. Electrical engineers are actively involved in the process of the engineering process, from smartphones to supercomputers. But, first and foremost, what is Electrical Engineering Brief  History?

Based on who you ask, electrical engineering is defined differently. Electrical engineers would acknowledge that it is a discipline of engineering that deals with electricity technology, and it’s more than just that. On a basic level, electrical engineers employ the physics and mathematics of electricity, electromagnetics, and electronics to process data and distribute power. Electrical engineering is a fairly recent development (below 200 years old), yet it has made significant progress in that period.

Michael Faraday, who was born in 1791, did not acquire a regular scientific education. He worked as a bookbinder’s apprentice, learning about scientific subjects via the books he bound. He is regarded as the ‘Father of Electrical Engineering’. He began attending scientific seminars as his passion for science grew. He was fascinated with electricity, galvanic currents, and mechanics. He subsequently started attending Humphry Davy lectures, which resulted in the creation of his career in science.

Although the study of electricity was once regarded as a division of physics, electrical engineering ultimately became its own field. The Technische Universität Darmstadt created the world’s first School of Electrical Engineering in 1883. Other colleges joined the following, offering electrical engineering instruction to aspiring engineers, and the profession grew. In 1884, an organization was founded to promote persons in the electrical professions, as electricity became more significant in society. This institution was known as the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, which was founded in 1912, combined with this organization in 1963 to become the Institute of Electrical and Electrical Engineering Brief  History, which is now the world’s largest technical professional body.
